Ensure your pay is on time, every time. Make your life easier by switching to Direct Deposit and go paperless.
The process is simple - use the Employee Self Service tool and review the information below.
Why should I consider Direct Deposit for my paycheck?
No worries about inclement weather delaying the delivery of your check
Save time and money by eliminating trips to the bank
Immediate access to your funds on pay day
Designate percentages or set amounts of your pay to go into up to 10 different bank accounts for checking, and up to another 10 for savings
How do I sign up for Direct Deposit?
Log into to Employee Self Service (ESS) > Money > Direct Deposit
Employees without Internet access can use the Direct Deposit Form to add, change or delete account information for direct deposits. Completed forms needs to be faxed to 925 598 9558
Employees without bank accounts may wish to consider opening an account with the MEFCU to facilitate direct deposit.
How long does it take for a new Direct Deposit to start, or for changes to an existing Direct Deposit to process?
When a new direct deposit account is set up or a change or deletion is made to your direct deposit information, it takes only two to three pay cycles for the information to go into effect. It is important to remember to allow for this time lapse, especially when changing banks.
Why Should I Go Paperless?
Your personal information on your pay statement is more secure
Print past pay statements for up to three years, great when you are applying for loans or need proof of income
Compensation details are available at your fingertips 24/7
Safe, secure and environmentally responsible. Choosing to Go Paperless is a smart decision to protect your personal information and reduce paper waste.
How Do I Go Paperless?
First, you must have your full pay set up with Direct Deposit. This can be Direct Deposit between one or multiple bank accounts, but no portion of your pay can be distributed by a paper check for the Go Paperless option. (see above for details about Direct Deposit)
If you already have Direct Deposit, then you are ready to set up your paperless option:
o Sign on to Employee Self Service (ESS)
o Under the "Money" table click on "Pay Statement"
o Select "Go Paperless"
o Follow the instructions on the following screens that will provide you with a confirmation of your request and completes your selection
